This is just a small rant that isn't even a real rant.

I ordered some shift fork inserts for the T-18 . It requires 5, 4 wide and 1 narrow for reverse. I found only one place I could buy these with out the "major rebuild kit" . They are not expensive and the finding was the hard part of the job.

They arrived and I had 4 in one baggie and one in another, just what I expected. Looking at them closer I see one has black grease on it and looking closer still it has worn spot where it has been rubbing on the synchronizer ring channel. It is not worn out by any means and I am not going to return it and demand a "new" one and may not even call or e-mail the vendor.

I guess the point to this thread is that I have found one more way to be , at least mildly, disappointed in the suppliers of jeep parts.:D

I'm guessing E-Bay.

Do you think they could have been returned parts and put back on the shelf? How about naming that vendor also. When you get upset with that thing, think about the first time you are going to use that first gear when the Transfer Case is in low.
