Does anyone know where to buy paint from the original paint codes? I found that the paint code for my color is 7B Mocha Brown Metallic. I would like to finally finish off my full doors this year before the snow starts to fly .

Is there somewhere that carries this color, or am I going to have to have it mixed?

most good auto paint stores will have a book that cross refernces the original colors to the product line they sell. You look it up by make model and year and they can mix it for you

Just an FYI - I started to make a listing for as many years for CJ's that could. I have them on our site for an 80. I'm pretty sure I made a page for 78 also... Just have to finalize the web page...

1980 Jeep All Models Colors

Thanks for the info everyone. I found a local place that does the color matching. Now I just really need to get my butt busy.

I was wrong, the paint code is not 7B, it's 7E, I guess I'm going to have to start a door refurb thread...

Well, the local place that that I went to last Monday told me that they had to get back to me about paint. Their computers didn't go back to 1978. Well, it's Saturday and they still haven't gotten back to me. So I set out today to either find somewhere else local, or something on the internet.

I found this place Automotivetouchup.com Touch Up Paint, Aerosol Spray Paint and Paint Touch Up Accessories

They have paint codes back to 1935, for all kinds of makes and models. They'll mix up pints, quarts, even 12oz spray cans. I ordered 4 12oz cans, that should be enough for two doors. And two cans of their clear coat too. $19.95 for cans of base coat paint, and $7.95 a can for clear coat.

That is quite a find, we need to convince cj to bookmark that place in the resource/link section, hey they could even pay to be linked

Were do you find the paint codes on a CJ5

Would like to bring up this old paint thread since it has a link to the color charts.

For my 79 CJ5 , the charts shows Olympic white 3107, that should be my color. Would there be any chance of a rattle can in this or something very close?

One of the first things I'll do to my incoming CJ is take the edge off the ugly rust spots here and there. I guess I could use any close white but thought I would ask first. Hit it with some primer and touch up just for now.

Thx!
