How much paint will I need to get to paint my 7? I am not taking the tub off just doing the out side, Poor mans paint job. At work there is a 5 gallon container of Volvo yellow that I was told I could use some of it to paint the CJ but I need to move it to a smaller container. I will most likely paint it over Memorial weekend at the shop If I can get all the prep work done.

Probably between 1 and 1.5 gallons if your just doing the outside. Here is a good guide I have pointed people too...

When I shot mine, I did the entire thing while it was apart. So the firewall, grille, fenders, hood, tailgate, and body inside and out got a good heavy coat, and I only used a gallon. I started with a 2 part epoxy primer, and followed up with a high end PPG paint, and it has worn like iron.
