Painting a softtop

Has anyone painted a soft top before? Recomendations on paint type? I just bought a jeep but it comes with a brown top and the jeep is black.. I'd prefer all black but don't want to buy a new top.

I tried to paint a set of soft doors I bought to match my top. I used Duplicolor which I think is a great product, but It didn't hold up at all. I went from light (Levi (Edition) ) blue to black. before I knew it, it was black and blue again. IMO, leave it alone. I had a tan top on my '89 black Wrangler, I liked the look.
