Parking brake equalizer

After changing my parking brake cables on my 1972 CJ5 , I think I mounted the equalizer incorrectly. Does the long side of the equalizer go on the driver's side or passenger side? Don't forget that the cable goes from one side of the equalizer to the OTHER rear wheel. So to avoid confusing me, answer by stating, for example, "The long side of the equalizer is on the PASSENGER side and the cable attached to the long side goes to the rear DRIVER'S side wheel." Thanks.

I just uninstalled and re-installed mine a day or two ago, and didn't even notice a difference...

Either I got lucky, or it doesn't matter

I'll look tonight though and see what it looks like on my 74
