Parking/Emergency Brake Help

I'm having trouble connecting my cables to the parking brake levers. I bought this '73 CJ5 without any parking brake hardware at all so I can't just look at the other side. Can anyone tell me how the cable connects to the lever inside the drum? I hook it up but it won't stay. I've seen some pictures that look to have a spring on the cable but can't find anything like that anywhere. Any help is appreciated.

It's gotta be better than the Hayes Manual or anything else I've found.

Thank you, Sir. I replied in that section to keep the "conversation" going. It's those end springs that I don't have and can't find.
