Parts Shifting

I'm thinking of buying a 1963 CJ6 .
1) Will wide track axles from a '85 CJ7 bolt right up? Or is the frame thinner on the CJ6 ?
2) Will a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l engine fit or is the firewall to close?
3) Will a T-18 (long input shaft) tranny work with the 4cyl engine (I still have to find out what engine is in it)?

My opinions (no facts right now...too tired to think)
1) no they won't (the frames are wider in the rear (for the WT) and you would have to outboard the front springs)
2) firewall is too close (lengthened the nose in '71(?)
3) dunno but I dont think so, and then there is the driveshaft length to think about)

See if you can find a Scrambler (CJ8 ), As it will have everything you want in a factory package...
