This is one of those "a picture saves a thousand words" type posts. Ths weekend I finally installed my passanger seat in my '75 CJ5 . It has a tool box so naturally the seat is hinged for access. Here's the rub. I have never seen how the seats were originally installed in this jeep. The hinge works great. With the help of Willy's Works here in Tucson a latch came my way. I am stumbling when it comes to how the original seat latch was installed. This seems simple enough, however if it's installed incorectly premature wear or out and out breakage is very possible. Since these latches aren't that easy to come by I make this request. Is it installed, Up .... Down .... latch on bottom, latch on top? So, I'm asking for some help here. A sketch would be nice, pictures would be best, you could try to do a solid description in text, but that would help illustrate the "a picture saves a thousand words" rule. thanks for the help.

I completely forgot to take my camera when I was in the barn today. My seats are not installed and didn't have a rear seat when I acquired it.:(

I might be at the point of getting them installed in the next week and I will get some pics up then for sure. (If I have room in the gallery that is!):chug:

Mine doesn't have a rear seat either. It probably won't get one either. My '80 CJ5 had a rear seat but I rarely had it in the Jeep.

I'm looking for the little latch that holds the passenger seat down. Sure I can use the seat belts, but that just ain't right.

:)Did they have more than one latch in stock?...........I'm also looking for one.

:D:D:D:D

Mine was not new, but in great shape. I honestly don't know if he has any more, I asked and Rob came wandering out with one. He has stuff I never thought I'd find.

Thanks I'll call them tomorrow..............

I talked to Rob today, he has a couple latches. Let him know that you talked to Michael on the net about the latch.

this is on a '69 but you get the idea. the loop thing and latch was on it when I bought it.Looks the same as hood latch on '67.Works good as you can reach thru seat and release and tip forward.

Thank you very much. My goodness is that Jeep NEW or what. Mine will likely never look that good ever again.
