Anyone know what the perch alignment hole distance should be on an AMC20 for CJ's

I just put new springs, ubolts, shackles and shocks on... My shackles are splayed outward, driver side is the worst at about a 1/2" and the passenger side is round a 1/4"...

Put on some General String no lift 4 leaf 785# with some slightly longer than stock Currie shackles BTW

Thanks
Chris

Was it like that before you put those new parts on? The later CJs did have a problem with the assembly pin tooling wearing out and the rear springs did bow out. The CJs of your vintage were not known for having that issue that I know of. You could check the distance between the centers of the spring hangars and the mounting pin width on the rear axle. You can figure all this out with a measuring tape to see just where the problem is. Another possibility would be the spring shackle bolts are not all the way tight.

Thanks
I’m going to unhook everything this weekend and do some measuring, I’m thinking the fixed bracket has been tweaked.

Don't be surprised, if you find the center hole on the axle spring perches are wider than the springs are. Common issue.........
