So I started my suspension kit and took off front shocks and passenger side leaf spring on the front, I went to replace the bushing not know what a pain in the A** it was going to be  So before I waste anymore money or time on this I really need some help my new bushing kit which is Energy suspension comes with a rubber bushing and metal sleeve that goes inside the rubber bushing. Well I got the old rubber bushing and metal sleeve out but there is this other metal sleeve inside of the leaf spring hanger I need to know if this needs to come out if so HOW??? if not How to I get the bushing in I don't have an impact or press and can't take the hanger off. Here are some pics please someone make some sense of this. :chug:

I think some people have good luck jamming a screwdriver into the gap to spread it a little wider.

Cut a groove in the bushing with either a saws all or a hacksaw. Then get a punch and work it out. "Warm it up" a little with a small hammer by hitting the outside of the spring eye and this will help as well.

Those :censored: bushings......!!!!

I take a die grinder with a carbide burr and groove it almost through. Then use a punch.

The grinder helps heat it up. :D

Thanks guys so after beating the hell out of it for about 3 hours with a hammer and chisels I don't think I will be removing the other 3....I finally have removed 1 and here is the outcome lol it was not pretty.

So what do you guys think about me leaving the other 3 stock?

Try the die grinder approach with a good carbide bit. A Dremel could work, but I use an air die grinder. It's pretty easy to see when you get the hang of it. It must do if you have wander on the road.

20 minutes max each. I've helped friends do It as well. They were surprised.

Dang 3 hours, I'd be irritated too. :D

Unfortunately I am poor I have no compressor to operate air tools lol, So I started to take off driver side leaf spring and what do you know the flipping rubber comes right out with it AHHHHHHHH :mad: SO I had another chance to show my jeep who was boss, being that I have no power tools or air I went on with my chisel, punch, ball peen hammer, and super long flat head screwdriver and 15 minutes later BANG, the sucker FLEW out so not so bad. :D

Thanks you guys I think I just needed a different approach to the situation.

I read the article, great by the way. But how do you get the bolts out first. Mine seem stripped and just spin in place after the nut is off, and I've beat it with a 5lb sledge. Thinking of getting a 20 lber

I had some that were stripped also I took a small punch lined it up and knocked the hell out of them, lol. Oh and if your like me and a first timer take all the tension off of the springs lol, I took my ubolts off before the others and it helped ALOT!!! Good luck bud :D
