Please help with buying decision?

There are so many questions to ask about an ad like that!

Why is the AC compressor on the engine if it does not work?

Are true bead locks OK in your local? Most people put true bead locks because they build a vehicle for rock crawling.

Was the Dana 44 swapped in as a SOA?

How does it drive at 65 mph? What about 70+?

What axle gears?

What Transmission ?

I think you get my drift...

:agree: Also, how do you plan on using it? How are your mechanical skills?

I don't know what the price is or if it is put together right but this is a very serious machine, at least on paper.

I do not see anything not to like.

If you just want something to cruse the camp ground with this is a major over kill. With all the modifications it could be a bit of a chore to keep it maintained.

I would want to see more than those pics but looks interesting to me.

Not the best skill but get buy. I will be towing behind my motor home for use where we stop and some light offroading in the San Bernardino Mts in So. Calf.

That Cj seems a bit overbuilt for what your describing as light off roading. Not that thats a bad thing and for the amount of mods the price seems fair when you excpect a counter offer. I like the one hole posted up myself.

Anyone else can give me there opinion PLEASE and I want to thank all of the others for theirs as well.

Thanks
You want us to verify an impulse decision or buy? Not going to happen... Sorry, but as I stated CJ's are 30 years old - they require constant work.

Have ever owned a CJ? CJ's are 30 years old!

I have owned in my younger years...lol an 88 series Landrover, M38A1, CJ3b and have loved them all. I want to use this one for nostalgia (trying to re-live the past...HA) but really to use offroad in the areas we go camping and run around Big Bear which has some great trails. I know this a lot of jeep but does it have to many mods that I should be worried about a money pit?

Thanks

No matter what CJ you buy it is going to be a money pit - sorry but that i what happens.... I mean that as we all want to make them better! :)

There's a couple things that I question about his ad.
He said it's a Laredo but they had chrome grills and his doesn't.
As far as I know Warn bumpers have always had a W cut out in them his don't. They don't look like warns either.
Why 2 electric fuel pumps?
I also don't like the Z shackles, but maybe thats just me.
35" tires with lockers are going to be hard on the Dana 30 and AMC20 but with light wheeling you can probably get away with it.
The price seems kinda high to me but than again all the cj's here in the rust belt are, well, rusting away.
