so i have posted that i am making a POW MIA themed CJ5 to enter into car shows and parades to support the local POW MIA organization here in utah.

its underway as we speak i have ordered lots of parts and accessories i believe will make a clean yet unique take on this jeep.

i have one question that ive been yet to solve on my own and id like the opinions of anyone and everyone

the jeep is green and i was going to leave it green to connect it with the military.. however the only service thats known for green is Army and i dont want to make it service specific because POW MIA soldiers are made up of all cuts...

so this being said.. should i just keep it Green and have the military reference there or should i paint it black and keep it more true to the POW MIA logos?

heres pics of the jeep i dont want to lift it or over glorify it as a wheeler.. i just want to keep it as modest and sleek as possible.

if anyone has any other ideas that they think would be fitting of this jeeps intended nature i am totally open to any and all feedback, advice, opinions, whatever.....

So i know its nothing super spectacular as of yet... but i got a few things that i think will go well as accents.. tail light covers, a couple emblems to go on the fenders, CB radio with bluetooth, a spare tire mount, those are pictured the new things i have that i havent taken a pic of yet are.... New soft top, new back seat, back seat brackets, and this weekend the seats go in to get a custom reupholstery work done guarenteed those pics will be up soon for the seats. oh and some little POW MIA valve stem caps...

I figure that if i add enough little details its like adding little trees to a forest it will complete the look

Next up is to get some body work done hopefully while the seats are out and get the gauges working and rhino line the inside and send it in for paint... but its up to the lil lady how much and how fast i can spend the money... we do have a Moab trip coming up next month..

Ok so the seats are officially at the upholstery shop getting done. heres a pic of them before and in a week or so ill have them back.. and so i want to paint the jeep black so i started with a little area to test my skills on prepping properly and ability to lay a smooth finish down so i did the grill and while i was at it painted the hood latches ( they were quite rusty). Since the head lights had to come out i polished the chrome bezels and also decided to paint the headlight housing bracket to make sure it doesnt rust any further and cause problems. i also took a lot of before pics since in the next month the changes are going to happen quickly,, heres what i did with my day.

Glad to see you decided to go black. That particular shade of green doesn't look like any military green I've ever seen... and the black will look awesome with all the logos you're using:D

so another weekend has come and a few hours spent on the CJ. I took the dash off and and sanded it down and prepped it for paint.. then decided while i was at the store that i wanted the dash to be painted with bedliner.. and while i had the dash pad off i was looking at it and its fadedness ( not a real word i know but i like it) and decided to give it some TLC as well... with the extra bedliner i masked off the part where the dash and dash pad mount to the body and hit that with the liner... then off to the back to do the inner tailgate and wheel tub areas... also took a little time and painted the back of the jeep black with actual paint...... heres the pics of the damage
