Power Steering Belt 1978 AMC 304

I have a 1983 CJ7 with a rebuilt 1978 AMC 304 motor. The power steering unit and belt seem to shake and the belt bounces like crazy. I thought it was the wrong belt (too thin), but when I picked one up it was just as puny.

I bought a Duralast V Belt 15290. Is this correct? If so, is there another beefier belt that will fill the groove in better? This belt seems to sit really deep in both wheels.

From your description, it does sound like you have issues with power steering unit rigidity and possibly pulleys. You could probably get a larger v-belt. As my CJ has a different than oem size serpentine belt due to a A/C compressor addition for an onboard air setup.
