In a frame off rebuild for a long time...
So I got the new PSC power steering box installed last week and finished up getting the CJ back to street legal this weekend.
I've had nothing but problems with the steering on this thing since the old box started leaking...
Anyways...got the PS box on and bled out the first time. the steering felt really hard (quite unlike the stock box) and was near impossible to turn with the wheels on the ground.
Talked to the vendor and decided to install a new pump. Did that. Still had intermittent hard steering problems but figured it was air still in the lines.
Took it for an ice cream run today, about 2 miles in I had no power assist, and the steering felt harder than a manual steering box would be. Of course the 35" tires don't help, but thats why I need PS. now its a total hard steer, with no assist at all.
Anyone else had these kind of problems or can steer me in the right direction to fixing this thing?
I have an Email in to the vendor about this (ongoing deal), but any advise would be welcome.

Ok just a shot in the dark, BUT did you remove the protection plugs for the pressure lines? that's odd if you did when i put mine back in all i did was fill it and with engine running cycle steering wheel left to right and it works fine.

 Yep The plugs are out. I have never had a problem like this before, either. Just throw the box on and turn the wheels a few times to bleed it out and go. Thats what I get for buying an expensive box...

See ya shoulda went to the JY, LOL. No leaks? Figure maybe got an air leak in the system. That or something is binding.

could also be one of those one in a million boxes that was not put together right. Have you contacted the vendor yet?.
Oh and I figured you have removed the plugs but who knows I've done things way more dumb than that :D .

Oh yea I've been in constant contact with the vendor. He says he has never heard of this much trouble with a box, and honestly, neither have I (at least not a good box).
So I ordered another new pump and will try again with that this weekend. If that doesn't fix it, I will demand they take the box back and/or exchange it.

Brock, I looked for a Waggy to steal the box out of for 2 months. Seems like they all dried up recently. And there is NO JY around here that will admit to having a CJ/YJ/AMC product in the yard, and you can't walk around these at all.
