I am replacing the Steering shaft(It was a hack Job) on my 1980 CJ5 I6 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l which has power steering(added before I purchased it) and am having some problems. I had a hard time finding the right shaft as I do not know what vehicle the power steering pump came from.
I need to figure out what type of power steering box I have, on it are the following numbers: 203 25, 7812145, 7800715. It has 36 splines and I believe is a 11/16 or 3/4 diameter output shaft.
Also I need to know of any power steering boxes that have the 36 spline 11/16 or 3/4 inch output that are a direct bolt in as I spent a boat-load on the steering shaft(I would like to use this one) and might need to get a new box as the splines are not great.
