Hello, I'm new to the forum and needing some info plz):D

In process of updating few things to my 65 tux park.

1. (Power Steering) What brand should I buy them and where?

2. (Dis Brake) What brand of conversion should I buy them and where?
also Do I need to remove the heating coil to mount the brake pump?
also debating if I should upgrade all four dis brake system or just the front...? What do you think.....?

Thanks everyone!

Power steering...........Saginaw model 800 seems to be the gear box of choice. (It mounts forward of the front radiator cross member....Advanced Adapters has kits).........Found in most CJ's from the mid seventy's through the eighty's as a factory option..........Saginaw Power steering Pump.......Need to spend some time in the wrecking yards to find the brackets that will fit your V-6....same brackets on the Buick 350 mid to late seventies and eighties but you need to get the belt pulleys also.
Mounts on the drivers side off the 3 bolts on the front of the cylinder head.......If you have cast Iron front dump manifolds on the left side you need the high mount.......with headers the low or high mount will work. The EarlyCJ5 site has a ton of info on the process.

Brakes: If you still have the stock 9 inch drums get them off of there.......disc brake packages from folks like R&P 4 wheel in Portland work great for both the front and rear.......but at least get them in the front with 11" drums in the rear. Your brake system needs to be changed over to a more modern dual system. If you still have floor pedals R&P has a solution , if you want to go power brakes then swing pedals have to be installed and the heater on the firewall has to go.

Does Benchworks have the correct mounts for a Dauntless Buick 225 V6 ?

:D:D:D:D

here ya go. Using a early OEM buick pump instead of saginaw but otherwise same deal on the mount.I did make my own rear bracket to attach to header bolt. If someone has all the parts you need in the aftermarket that will be great news to a lot of Dauntless Buick 225 V6 V6 owners.:)mike

Here is a couple of pictures of the two brackets.........the pump mounts between the two.
Also a picture of the Saginaw " Ham Can" style pump on my 65 CJ5 . This pump was standard fare on the later Dauntless Buick 225 V6 motors through the 1980's. If you notice this style Is also pretty compact and can be pressured adjusted manually through the pressure port. This is the low mount variety that will not work with factory front dump cast iron exhaust manifolds but works fine with headers or rear dump factory manifolds.
I like it because it can be mounted low and is out of the way in an already tight engine compartment.

Lance, I like your idea for the bumper on grill support rod for the hood.
Those CJ hoods always want to rattle. You will have a nice rig when it's done with all plans you have for it.:) mike
