The wife's Jeep PS box was leaking all over the place. I bought a Cardone along with the Rugged Ridge HD box mount. That thing is a beast!
My problem, one of the bolts, the rear lower one to be exact, was just spinning. I love the boxed frame, but it's a bear to try and get in there! The front was one spinning also but I was able to get the welder in there to stop the nut. The rear, not so lucky. I did get it out eventually but what to do when I put this back together? Cut a hole next to the bolt so I can get a wrench in there? Or weld the nut for that matter.
Thoughts?
I will be replacing all the tie rods and steering linkage while I'm at it. Might as well replace the column and shaft too! :) This thing is a mess.

I'll suggest ditching the beast, do you really need it? and use a brace type support. As it provides support to a location where it moves the most. Your frame is going to crack anyway if you wheel it hard enough.

My CJ did the same thing, just cut a hole and then plate it back up when you done, just did the rear body mounts had to cut it open so heck welding on CJ frames is just like changing the oil, you know after few miles you got to do it:D

I just wanted it for safety purposes. The whole wandering thing (thus the replacing of everything!) and hearing the horror stories of stock mounts. There will be no hard wheeling. Just a grocery getter and an occasional trip to the river bed or beach. The frame definitely would crack before the mount failed! :) Overkill, I guess.

Thank you. This is what I was thinking. I too had some welding to do with the body mounts! :)

Thank you gentlemen. I'll post some pics.
