I have a small PS leak at the shaft seal on the box so I want to replace the shaft seal. I have read several rebuild threads and articles but I still have a question.
Will I have to remove the Rotory Valve Assembly just to replace the seal?
And from what Ive read , this can be done without removing the box, correct?
Also , any tips on this are welcome.
Thanks

I've never pulled just the input piece, but I think you could do it. The input piece is seperate from the jack screw that goes to the piston. You should be able to do it, but you might as well do a full rebuild. Once you start messing with those old seals, they don't like it and you will be chasing leaks.

It really is not that hard, just use patience. West Texas Offroad is your best bet for a rebuild kit give them a call. The ones I tried to get from the parts stores never were right. WTO also has a good write-up on box dissasembly.

Thanks , it seems to be doing fine now. The fluid I saw may been from the install as I spilled a little when I filled the resevoir :D
