I installed a Trail Master 4" lift a few months ago. Apon finishing the install, the ride looked level to me. I noticed after driving it almost daily now and after adding the winch that the front seems about an inch lower than the rear. After taking the hard top off this weekend it of course raised the back end slightly more. It's not terribly disproportionate but I'd like to level it back out. I was thinking of maybe getting a set of add a leafs for the front. Anyone else run into this problem?

Before anyone asks the legitimate question of whether the I installed the leaf springs correct front to back, I triple checked the part number printed on the springs. The springs are in the correct location unless they printed the numbers on the wrong springs.

Not necessarily the exact same problem, but I was having issues with rubbing at the rear after loading up with a weeks worth of gear for desert trips. I contacted spring manufacturer (OME) and they recommended adding 1 additional main spring ( first longest one below the one with the "eye") It cured my problem and doesnt ride any worse when empty either.

Yeah, I have to agree with that, since the manufacturer of the spring has better knowledge on the right add-a-leaf and how to deal with the hard top add on.

I used Add-A-Leaf for just that reason. Drup'n from the weight of my Warn 8274.
You'll need new spring center bolts and most likely new spring 'U' bolts.

Somewhat the same issue I had with a trailer I tow with my '7'. I installed a set of 'air-shocks' many years ago and not an issue since.

Some spring manufacturers have different rates for different applications. OME for instance offers light to heavy rated springs. Up to you to which one will work best for your application. I started with heavys to start knowing I load the :dung: out of it for camping (100+ beers on ice weigh a lot ;) ) and still needed more spring support in the end.

Gatcha, I think the best way is probably to install the winch and see what extra lift is needed. I am only going with a 2 1/2 inch lift and it would be nice to do it at that time though.

So is adding a leaf to the front common when installing a winch?

Don't know about common. But I have seen a few over the years.

Whose springs are you looking at? Some brands are so stiff it may not be an issue. Best to consult the spring manufacturer and let them know what your plan/goals are
