Question on Rear Shackles

My rear shackles are straight with an upper, middle and lower bolt pattern. Currently I am using the upper and middle.
I just purchased this vehicle about a month ago. Full restoration and no rust.
I just want to make sure it is right. Seems to ride fine...

No. The bolts should be thru the top and bottom holes with a sleeve and a bolt thru the center hole to keep them spread apart. The distance between the top and bottom bolt should be the same on both front and rear shackles. What is that distance? Stock would be 3" but with better quality shackles it can be farther apart. Yours don't sound like they should be. Any pics?
