1979 Jeep CJ7 TH400 Automatic 258 I6 Quadratrac Amc 20 rear & Dana 30 front, 32 x 11.5 x 15 tires. Currently a Complete Custom Rebuild in progress.

Also I own a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, White, all stock with 4.0L. automatic, and police package. Best part of that is it came with leather seats! This package also has the NP242 Transfer Case, 8.25 rear end, and trailer towing package.
I've always wanted a better radio in my 2001 Jeep Cherokee (XJ), but didn't like my options. The OEM radio in the XJ was a 1 1/2 din format. 2 din radios with a 7" screen were out of the question. Not anymore! I ran across this part on eBay, but was able to find the direct manufacturer too. The center dash piece is replace with a new one that has a 2 din opening. You are required to cut some of the internal dash to make room for the new radio, but this only involves some light weight plastic used in the A/C ducts. I bought a new Android radio that was only about 2 inches deep. This involved me cutting a very small amount on the drive's side only. Metal tape is provided to cover the opening with the dash kit. Here are some before and after pictures:

Now I have maps, gps, cameras, internet, phone, etc. through my radio in my XJ !!!!!!!!!

PS: When the second picture was taken, I had not snapped the A/C vents into place. I'm replacing these with the Rugged Ridge switch vents, to add 4 rocker switches to my XJ.

PB I have no idea what 1 1/2 din and 2 din are Can you explain ? Your radio looks good

So a 1 din is your standard radio size (Height)(width is same for all radios). So in the picture, the Chrysler radio is a little bigger than a regular radio. This is a 1 1/2 din radio. Most radios with a screen, navigation, etc. are 2 din radios. 2 din radios will not fit in an XJ, or the newer Wranglers without the dash trim piece I listed in the article and dash modification. I don't know what din stands for. I just know it refers to the different sizes.
