Well just an FYI Had ta share.
I just finished up removing the RC 4"? lift and installed the Black Diamond 3" springs and I am really pleased. Got my caster set, was able to hook my E-brake cables back up, my drive shaft angle is at 12 deg, and what a difference in softness of ride, not to mention ease of gettin in, and so far my 33's clear fine.
The Drop in ride height was 2 3/4 inches from the rc 4 to the BD 3.
Somethin wasnt right with those :censored: rc "springs" and I use that term lightly.

There's the reason I, and a few others here try to discourage the use of RC spring lifts on a CJ. It's a tough sell because they're an inexpensive initial buy in, and far too many people fall for the "too good to pass up deal", only to realize later on that you get what you pay for. Their hard riding as all holy hell, and often times not too precise with arch consistancy, and can make your jeep high or low on a corner. Allways better to just save a few more bucks and buy a quality spring! Glad you're happy with the BD set up, their definately a good choice.

You dropped almost 3 inches with a 1 inch different kit? Am I reading that right?

cb

That is correct 2 3/4 inch drop those springs just were not right even the shocks they sent with the kit were not long enough. Ive read about rc springs being the wrong length I would say these were wrong length but fudged by arcing them more.....or something.
price diff between rc and BD neglagable.

Well that is good news for you then... an actual 3" lift instead of what sounds like a lot more... I installed RC springs many yars ago and didn't have any issue... sounds like it has changed over time... too bad.

Good luck with the improved ride.

Yep thats right 2 3/4 inch drop I've read about other people having issues with the rc springs length etc. unfortunatly I read all this after I bought them I should have joined this forum sooner!
