quick simple question: someone wants to buy my rear axle off of me. Its complete, i think the gear ratio is 3:31 or 3:54, what would be a fair price for this stock, working condition, fully set up axle.
Rough estimates. Thanks for your time.

Hard to say. They are a dime a dozen because in their stock configuration they are not an axle in any demand and a lot of folks replace them rather than fix their weak points. It's probably a 3.31 ratio, as the 2 common ratio's in the 80's were the 2.73 and the 3.31's for the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . But that's easy to tell. I have nothing to base this on but I would just throw out a figure of $AMC 150 .

They are hard to give away around here. With trac-loc I have seen them go for $100 for the value of the carrier and less if it is an open rear. If it has 1-piece axles swapped in or a locker added you will get a little more. In any configuratiom you will probably get less with the 2.XX ratio.

I just sold a set of of stock CJ axles with disc fronts for $AMC 150 .. Here in FL they go for about .09 a pound.
