rear axle 20 amc seals

Got a 20 rear that is leaking gear oil on the out ends. Got seals at the local FLAPS. Two seals for each side inner and outer. I thought the outer bearings run in gear oil? Do I need split the two piece axles? How do I set the preload on the outer bearings? I have some side to side play in bearings I think. Thanks Fdpwr2a

Be a good time to go with Moser 1-piece axles.
A FSM would be a good choice.
There is no 'pre-load'.
No on the bearing get'n gear oil-Pack it with grease.
