Rear U-Bolt Torque

I have a 80 CJ5 jeep, all stock. I had to replace the U Bolts that attach the rear axle to the leaf springs. Does anyone know what torque the U bolts are supposed to be?

think its like 18ft lbs not 100% though

Depends on the size of your nuts.

7/16" nuts - 36-42 ft. lbs.
1/2" nuts - 45-65 ft. lbs.
9/16" nus - 100 ft. lbs.

Wait. That's for the pin in the spring.

For the U-bolts it's about the same:

1/2" nuts - 55 ft. lbs.
9/16" nuts - 100 ft. lbs.
