In a frame off rebuild for a long time...
For the guys that are doing/have done a frame off rebuild, what are you doing to select the right hardware to install a piece of the frame (motor perches, crossmembers steering box, ect.) If you don't have it, its been broken off on removal, or can't remember what was there?
I'm getting started on my CJ7 build, but there will be tons of hardware I can't re-use due to rust and/or breakage. A bunch of it will be custom (non-stock) stuff so I don't really want to buy a pre-assembled kit just to use a few pieces.
Can anyone link to a master list of bolt/nut and fasteners? What about brake/fuel line clips and misc like that?

I'm very lucky to have an excellent hardware store just around the corner. They carry weird sizes and have just about everything I have needed so far.

My rule of thumb is replace everything in stress areas (mounts and such) with plated grade 8 bolts and just about everything else with SS.

As for fuel line and brake line clips, I'm making my own with padded clamps that will be attached to the frame.

I got a couple decent hardware/farm stores near me, but its still a 5 minute drive that takes an hour or more to get cleaned up, tell the wife I'm leaving (so she doesn't send the baby out to play in the yard with no one out there to watch her), then WAIT for said wife to get herself and the baby ready to go...then stop at 5 different stores 'on the way since we are out'...blah blah blah....Its hard enough just chasing the little one to make sure she isn't getting in trouble.

What I have started doing is every weekend I go by TSC (Tractor Supply Co.) and pick up about 5 pounds of assorted nuts and bolts. They sell them by the pound in grade 5 and they cost about 3 bucks a pound regardless of size. Beats the parts house prices. I try to get a few deferent sizes each weekend. It doesn't take long to get a nice assortment built up. Now I don't have to run to town for a couple of bolts when I need them.
I have a friend that gets me the grade 8 nuts and bolts I need at his price. :chug:

Really? I had no idea they did that! Put that on my list to start doing this weekend! :notworthy::chug:

I had forgot all about TSC! I buy a Bag-O-Bolts every time I visit. The one in my town has grade 3, 5 and 8! Buying by the pound is great!

Thats some useful knowledge. I didnt know you could buy them there by the lb. Thanx.
