Just though I'd throw this idea out there - given some recent threads on the topic of under-hood heat reduction...

A few CJs ago, I had a heat issue - probably due to the "hot" 360, e.g. bored .060 over, big cam, headers, etc. Oh, and the original radiator. I cut a 9" hole in the hood. I installed an electric radiator fan from a Honda Civic on the underside of the hood. I made a small hood scoop to cover the hole. The fan was on a toggle on dash. On the street, I'd keep it off and the fan would free-wheel backwards and let air in. On the trail, the fan would pull the hot air out and blow it forward. Standing at the bumper, it'd part your hair! And, reduce the engine temp 10 degrees!
