just wanted to see what you guys are using...when i bought my cj it had so off looking shackles, so i replaced w/ rugged ridge front and rears..and not really happy w/ the way they are..almost like they wanna bend? so who makes a nice heavy duty set? thanks all:D

3/8" bar stock is pretty cheap. Can be tied to each other pretty easy too.

someone here in the USA like Currie or BTF.

If you want something solid, take a look at these. Made by a fellow CJ owner.
I am using the CJ to YJ shackle hanger conversion set.

If you can find any old ConFer shackles those work great. That's what I've had on for decades. But with my resto I'm going to get Warrior Products shackles. They seem as close to well built Confer's as I've seen lately. You want thick sides, like 3/8" and if your going longer than stock get ones with solid blocks between, not just a bolt or pipe. You should also get heavy duty shackle mounts when you go longer too, so as to counter the "lever" effect the longer ones have. The guy that Yellow linked to above makes a great set of those, maybe the best available out there.
Shackles get a bad rap due to not being built right and from using too long of ones. I still see one old CJ5 around here with 2 roughly 7" or 8" strips of steel with some extra long bolts or threaded rod running thru it. Like the old universal kit you used to be able to buy for street rods back in the 70's!

I got mine from Warrior products. Mine were standard with a 1/2 in of lift ( like the 1st pic ) but you can get greasable as well ( 2nd pic ).

that looks more to what i need to look for...what i dont like about the rugged ridge is the bolt/spacer in between seems to long and they wanna bend at the spring end? probably look into the warrior...tks all
