Replacement steering wheel question

I'm looking to gain a little belly room in my Jeep. Does anyone know of a direct fit replacement steering wheel that has a flatter profile ? The stock one has about a 4" rise from the center hub to the actual wheel. Aftermarket wheels are flatter, but they need an adapter , and I think they would be about the same profile after it was all said and done. Any ideas ?

You could go smaller diameter, say 12-13" instead of the stock 14" or bigger wheel. I have started into this a couple times and ended frustrated with all the choices and could not make a decission.
How bout starting a thread " pics of your CJ's steering wheel" with maker and size info?
Still running the stock one here.
Oh ya, I have a tilt wheel in mine and would not want to drive withg it tilted up as the angle gets funky, I do use it to get in and out though.
