I'm sure this has been posted but apparently my search skills are Limited .

I have 85 CJ - Need to replace front leaf springs. Looking at these guys...

Leaf Spring Assembly 5354892

Shackles, Front HD Greasable w/ Red Bushings (Pair) 4019-73

U-Bolt, With Hardware, (2-5/8" Inside Diameter) 8130369

But I would like to buy the complete assembly with shackle kit and u-bolts. Anybody know if someone offers a complete kit bundled.

Trying to avoid getting everthing delivered and finding more pieces are still needed.

Not sure if anyone offers a "bundle"
IMO I would not get the Omix shackles, I'd look for some from someone different.
The front axle will need 3 u-bolts of one size ond 1 thats a different size, just making sure you know.
Unless I mised it, it's kinda scarry that they don't tell you who makes the springs.

I would stay away from Omix anything. Those links don't say whether it's a pair or what lift hgt., so I'll assume you don't want much lift if any. Your stock shackles are 3" bolt to bolt and will maintain a square / rectangular shape (no racking, as simply using side plates and bolts between would allow). New aren't needed unless you want greasable bolts, in which case Warrior Products makes some quality pairs, w/ or w/o grsbl. bolts.

Here's a 1" lift kit with shocks.
Superlift Part K713 - 1 inch Master Lift Kit with Shocks
or just the 1" spring alone
Superlift Suspension 01-529F-6 - Superlift 1" Front Leaf Spring for 65-86 Jeep® CJ-5, CJ-7 & CJ-8 - Quadratec

I've never seen a stock hgt. "kit" before.

What caught me off guard on the front leaf springs when I replaced mine was the U bolts. One is a larger diameter than the other three because it goes over part of the differential case.

Yep, due to the narrow wheel base of a CJ and offset pumkin for the front axle the inner most pumkin side U bolt straddles the case. No way around it! :)

Yea I ordered what was posted on the original link. Letting 3rd party do the work. He's gonna salvage the u bolts. Have to see how easy Morris is with returns. Ubolts r 8$ a piece. Would like to have all new hardware. H8 to pay shipping . Probably just call it a loss and get the other 2 ubolts local. The shop is going to lay it all out Monday make sure all parts fit. Keep you posted. So far so good.

IMO you should always use new u-bolts.

Ditto. Kind of mad at myself for not taking on the work myself. I'm pretty Limited in the mechanical field. I'll replace the ubolts when i get it back. If Morris will exchange them with no charge I'll do it that way. Think the cheapest way is to just buy the correct ubolts local. Can't ask much more from Morris. They did ship what I ordered.

Didn't do the work myself cuz the wife n kids do ride with me. Don't want to take the chance and not have it done right. Can only imagine having something come loose or break at 65. Appreciate the knowledge available on the forum. There is no limit to what can be accomplished by the members.

Again thanks for the help and direction

I hope you have a torque wrench, you need to retorque them after you drive for 50 miles or so. I usually do that a couple times just to be sure everything is seated in good.

Bad wheel hub. The bearings weren't the problem. Some debris from old bearings weren't cleaned out and it wore out the hub. The seat for the bearings moves freely inside the hub. No problem just a few more days for parts. Sure the guy doing the work wants it out of his shop

dag where are you in SE LA? I'm in slidell, just bought a 85 CJ& and replaced the leaf springs all around. Found the U bolts at o'reillys

Got her back yesterday. Couple problems. I ordered wrong bolts. Got the shop to get the other two but he got them too long and didn't cut off one side. The new wheel hub was 6 bolt and I need 5 bolt. Pretty sure they delivered wrong hub. It will be Monday before I can check with them.

We had lot of flooding when I picked it up Friday the guy doing the work was flooded in. Not too upset with ubolts. We all had a lot going on last week with all the rain. Let u know more when I get the loose ends cleaned up
