Energy Suspension Front Sway Bar Bushing Set Black*25101G by the Jeep Specialists | Morris 4x4 Center

Reasonable price and it'll tighten up the front end. I have them on my CJ.

I agree with EB.
You might want to get some disconects for when you go offroad.;)

tell me about the disconnects.... great idea but???

I was thinking that with you running the sway bar offraod it is pounding the bushings out.
If you run the disconects and disconect the sway bar while offroading you will have better wheel travel as well.

looked online and found them for about $100. (or a little more)
is that a good price/value?? if that little bumpin and grinding forced the old
bushings to fail... i better do it soon!

thanks in advance, radman

I haven't looked at prices for a long time, but it looks like that's what they want now.
To be honest with you I never bought any, I just carried a 3/4" wrench and took my links off. It took me a couple minutes to take them off but it's not hard to do.

Check out the product reveiws on our site :chug:

JKS Manufacturing: Swaybar Components

JKS makes a really cool set called the quick disconnect.

Or, if you want to spend a little more money you can get the quicker disconnect, I have a set on my XJ, they're very simple and are very well built.

bought some quicker disconnects and bushings... took off sway bar but
i am having some difficulty separating bar from links.. don't want to wreck
anything so i'm moving slowly.. any ideas on how link and bar can be
separated??

thanks in advance... radman

What year is your jeep?
I don't know for sure if there is any differencees in years, but the ones on my 83 just slid together on a rubber bushing's.

since the sway bar is pretty low tech and simple to make i assume that
they will be the same or very similar.. are you saying that the drop arm
should just slide off the bushing?? tried lots of stuff but didn't try something
so simple.. thanks, i'll give that a try!!

thanks again, radman

Yes on mine I just took the nut off and it and the bushing slid off, leaving the stud sticking out of the piece connecting the bar and the spring plate.(leaving a hole in the sway bar)
I haven't run a sway bar at all for over a year so I hope I'm remembering right.

ended up going to local (great) auto repair place and they separated the
pins from the sway bar...
because all of my real tools are elsewhere; i'm going to have 4wd parts
do the install of the quick disconnects!
new question... how do you deal with sway bar when it is disconnected??

ideas?? radman

Jeepin.com - DPG Swaybar Disco Cables

dpg03.jpg

In the article they bought these pre-made cables. I just went to my local hardware store and bought all of the same stuff. A pair of eye bolts, a couple of snap hooks, several feet of rubber coated steel cable and four cable crimps. I don't have them on my CJ I have them on my XJ. But it's all the same, when you disconnect the sway bar disco's you just wrap the cable around the disco's and then snap the hook back into the eye bolt, keeping them up out of the way.

that looks like the perfect answer!!
thank you soooooo much, radman
