Hey guys,

I have a 79 CJ7 that the PO had but a body lift on. it seems to do ok, but i want to take it off and put on a suspension lift. Right now its running 33's and i like the way it sits. With a little bit of research, i think i need a 3-4" lift. Anybody know where to get a set of original sized body mounts? Also, what do you guys reccomend as far as lift. Thanks for the input.

This cj were building now is 2.5 springs, 1" shackle and 1" over stock daystar body mounts. We were trying to get a little better ride and still clear 33-35" tires. Just one of a thousand ways.

have a 85 CJ7 I removed the po's 1 inch body lift and put on a 4 inch pro comp lift and extended grease able shackles. fit's 33's nicly could probably even go 35's but it would be tight. rides really well and sits a lot better with that body lift off

Im doing the same thing, taking out the 3" body lift, and installing a 4" suspension, I think Im going with a 1" body lift also, just for clearance of the wiring, fuel lines,ect...

Just an FYI with my 4 inch suspension lift and my 1 inch body lift on I had to trim some metal around the stick shift, I could not get into 2nd 4th or reverse. Soon as I dropped the body lift and went back to stock bushings it was back to normal and shifted fine.

thanks, shouldnt be to much of a problem, I have a glass body, I had to trim some when I had the 3"body lift, Now that i'm going down to 1-1.5 body lift and 4" suspension that just arrived on the doorstep today.....
I'm thinking of a SOA as well, I'll have to research that....
