Looking for information on replacing the steering column in my '74 CJ with a new chromed tilt version. I know columns can be cut down to size if needed...but can anyone who has done this give me an idea of the apx. length they have used for the replacment? This would give me a better starting point. Right now my jeep is torn apart and it might be more difficult to get a good measurment unless I put it all back together.
thanks, Ed:chug:

I've got a 30" Flaming River.

If chrome is what you want and you have deep pockets you are on the right track. Otherwise it.s just a GM column and you can find one in a 90s Cherokee that will accomplish the same thing. And when you are through is says Jeep on the wheel, the horn button works and the turn signals cancel themselves.:D

No chrome for me. Stainless is the way to go.

I only have holes in my pockets. . .

Is the flaming river stainless ?? I am impressed.

Holes in your pockets is a good reason to tuck your pants into your boots, works for me.:D
