Shackle Reverse

What is involved in doing a reverse shackle on the front? I have read alot about it but dont know what the purpose is.

A search of this topic on this site will show that this is covered at least weekly and that everyone who answers will have a different answer. 40% will tell the other 40% that they are wrong. If you don't have someone whose opinion you really trust flip a coin and go with it.

I went reversal because I have heavy 38x15.5x16.5 tires on heavy 16.5x12 rims on a heavy D60F axle and I believe that the reversal will aid in on-road stability even if it may decrease off-road ability a tad at about the 95th percentile depending on who you believe.
