Does anybody know were I can get parts for my Ross Steering gear on my 69 CJ5 . I am looking for a sector shaft but can only find the smaller 7/8" Shaft mine is larger about 13/16. Thanks
I checked out Jeep Parts and that is the shaft everybody has. The one I need is a larger diameter shaft. My guess is that this was a heavy Duty Version Because everything is bigger and harder to find. It has bigger springs and front end parts.
it also had a plow on it Dont know know if that has anything to do with it.
I did find one on Ebay from Turkey that matches but wont know for sure untill I get it. If not I will probably send my old one to that steering Rebuilders and have them make me one
Thanks

Are you planning on staying with that Ross box, or upgrading to a more modern system?
I have upgraded to a saginaw system a with quite a few early cjs but amd going with another system for the 67, I will be going with the Ford reversed gearing box.
here is the link Steering Components
now if that part comes in from India, and does not fir, here is a great option as the ross system is really prone to a lot of wear and tear.
I would call Herm about that shaft anyway, he has the know about a lot of Early CJ stuff.
I would like to keep it stock for the most part. this CJ was restored with a Fiberglass body about 30 years ago and I want to keep it as is if I can. I did talk to Herm and he had nothing on that part. but He did help me with the Brakes.
Thanks
