Hi folks,

Thinking about installing boomerang shackles on my new to me '78 CJ5 . My question is, why do they list two different lift heights for each set of shackles? I accidentally ordered one that is 1 inch or 1'3/8 and also another that is 1.25 and 1.75 inches. Does that have to do with whether you install them on the front or the back?

From what i understand they can be installed on either front or back, correct? Any input would be helpful. I am OK with .25 difference but.

Thanks!

I looked at the website, and am still not sure what you are describing. Anyway, the front and rear spring shackles are different widths due to the different widths of the leaf springs. Spring shackles lengths should be on the short side, since they do tend to sway from side to side. Maybe an inch max longer than stock length for a high lift spring. I have seen too many oem front spring shackle mounts break when guys install aftermarket suspensions, get a heavy duty spring shackle mount also.
