My Family headed up to the Rubicon Trail for the 4th of July. We camped out at Airport Flats Camp Ground,
and drove to the Loon Lake trail head. Met a nice lady with RTF who gave us some spill kits and bandannas and stickers for the Jeeps, kids, and dogs too.
My Brother walked a while to help spot and take some pictures and videos.
My little cousin likes the new RTF mile markers on the trail
Had a little damage, broke shock and body mount of the drivers side front...
Also, even after the tie rod flip kit newly installed, i bent my tie rod bar all the way up to almost contacting the fan....
This may have been when, but not sure... A few things kinda happened at once, along with clutch binding / slipping... and well... i ended up on a small rock...
My Dog, Babygirl is saying "Dad... I think we hit something..."
had to bend it back on the trail and support the bend to keep it from just bending again...
Mustache tape fixes everything...
So after a while, we got the jeeps (mine in particular) all the way back to the wentworth springs trail head. got on blacktop around 11M (started at 7 AM (ish)
The next morning the pups were a little tired...
and we went to visit our dog brandy who we "lost" up there last year...
I took a trip to the cell reception spot to get on the "how to" of getting my jeep back home Sunday.
All in all, the trail kicked my booty this time. But I'll be back...
Heres a few you tube uploads too...
(he did make it the next run... remember we're stock at around 25:1 crawl ratio...)
Heading down the little sluice bypass (small) Steeper than it looks...
We did check out this guy, Tim, driving through the little sluice with his feet up on the dash...
We didn't get much of the harder and "cool" stuff for some reason... I think we were in hurry on way in to get to untraveled territory, and in hurry to get out on way back, to not be stuck on trail over-night...
Anyways, hope you enjoy the pictures.
