I have reading a lot of reviews for different lift kits recently, but can't seem to find anything about the Rusty's Off Road kit. Specifically I am in the market for a 2.5" lift kit. The obvious choices are OME and BDS, but both are also at the top end of the price range.

The few reviews I have found (on other forums, there is only one that shows up here) about Rusty's are very old (10 years +/-) . Those people seemed to like the performance, but 10 years ago is a long time.

Does anybody have any recent experience with Rusty's leaf spring lift kits? Or just with Rusty's in general?

When I did my Cherokee, I went to Rust's Off-Road. I ordered 30 lbs front springs in the standard kit, but after talking with them over the phone, it was suggested to use 50 lbs springs for the extra bumper and winch weight. Worked perfectly. They know their stuff and make everything themsleves. Call them about what you are trying to do, and see what they say. As for the actual package you are looking at, I have no experience there. Rod

I'm with Rod, before I got rid of it a couple of years ago I had Rusty's 4.5" lift coils and 1.5" lift shackles on my XJ. The people at Rusty's customer service were all very friendly and helpful and the parts that I bought from them were high quality, heavy duty stuff.

But, this was 6 or so years ago, and like Rod, I have zero experience with their CJ stuff.

Rustys has a web site. It's rustysoffroad.com Hope that helps. They do list a 2.5" kit for CJs.

I used Rusty's for the 2 1/2" lift on my TJ. Nice people.Later I added a 8274 Warn winch and had a little front end sag.Called them and they fixed me up with 4" front springs and adjustable track bar.Worked great, very satisfied with there products. Mike S.:)

I had a rusty's 4 inch list on a wagoneer. So it was all leaf like a cj. I really liked it and never had any complaints. When the time comes to lift my current cj I will go with rustys again if I dont find something on CL.

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like Rusty's is a viable option.

I'm also looking for a 2.5" lift and was thinking about the bds lift because of what I read about the ride quality. The Rustys sure has a better price tag though. I wonder how the two compare in the ride quality.

If you ever do find an article comparing the two (or OME), please share the link. I would be curious as well.

I was going to order a 2.5 " lift for $400 which I thought was a good dealt until I went to check out. They wanted $140 for shipping. So I canceled the order and went to amazon.vom and got a rugged ridge for $450 with free shipping. The rugged ridge lift is selling for $600 + on other sites.
