alrighty. well i goofed and thought i could use the rear seat belts of a CJ i parted out on my CJ (85)

turns out not!

what vehicles can i steal from where the front bottom buckle works with the top part of the CJ seat belt?

i hope u guys understand this its confusing me!

inspection is in 3 days..need something that works. already tried a 92 cherokee...

If I was having that much trouble trying to kit bash some, I would go and buy new. those would match;)

Wow, I need some pics after trying to read that...

I know of several different belt styles used on the CJs over the years. The laters ones used to wider GM syle of buckles while the early to mid 80s used a thinner buckle. The rear non folding lap belts used a flat attachment anchor while the 85 and 86 used a floor mounted 90 degree attachment.

It sounds like he parted out a CJ with the older thinner style belts and tried to replace a busted front female buckle with it and saw it didn'e fit his 85s wider buckle. ??????

The MAIN problem with buying a NEW seat belt kit is that I have never seen one with the proper retractors and center buckle sections as the OEM versions, plus quality was very lacking. Its like theyre a generic fits all cheap kit. no thanks, I find good used sets and go from there.
