We have a 1979 CJ5 and an aluminum tub with the short back after market seats and want to put in shoulder harness seat belts. Was wondering what other people have done. Is there a truck or car out there to take them from that works good. Do I buy them from quardrotec or other supplier. Any good ideas from someone that has done the same.

You can pull seat belts out of a lot of different cars. Older Ford truck's seat belts look pretty much the same, but they're a little short, so if you or your passenger are really well fed, they may not reach.

It is my sons jeep and he is well fed and 6' 2" so we have to move the seat back 4 inches.
With the seat moved back, they may be long enough. Otherwise you can always make taller brackets to bolt the spool behind the seat higher so they're reach.

It sounds like to me it is just go to a yard and find a seat belt you like and fit in and just take it out and bolt it in the jeep

The problem is CJ seats sit pretty high and far away from where the spool mounts behind them. By the time the belt goes from the spool through the eye on the roll bar and around the passenger to the fastener on the other side, most seat belts including truck belts are a little short for larger passengers. I have belts out of an old Ford. I'm 6'2" and am not that well fed and they barely fit me with the seat slid all the way back. Someone 20lbs bigger in the mid section than I am wouldn't be able to fasten them without building a special mount to raise the spool higher.

IQprot51 put a link up for seat belts and there is one of them that adjust to 25 inches that might be the way to go
