so i'v got a mess i wana go with the wider leaf so i need to cut off the old hangers an get some new ones(or make my own) i want to go with a 2 1/2 leaf from the newer CJ's ??? it looks as if in the rear the hangers are home made an welded up an it looks as if there is some kinda make shift lift incorprated into the shackle hangers???it seems to hang to low???i"ll post pic of how it looks. so where is the right spot to mount the hangers i'v read the leafs will be longer so whats the trick to the mounting???

Lots of tape measure and plumb bob work, or.........

1. Put jeep on jackstands, frame and axle.
2. Take spring out on one side.
3. Measure angle and location of spring perch on axle tube.
4. Cut off old spring perch and weld on new spring perch matching your measurements.
5. Cut old spring hangars off frame.
6. Bolt new spring pack on axle.
7. Mark frame for new spring hangar mounts.
8. Bolt/Weld new hangars on to frame
9. Repeat for the other side.

On my axle swap I did drop the rear shackle hangar a bit to help level out the stance. Spring over in the front and under in the rear.
