Just finished replacing front and rear shackles with new urethane bushings and spring hanger bushings. After a light trail ride last night they are back at the original angle less the old bent shackles and worn out hardware.
Is this normal? Or are the springs bent?

Looks a bit to much-
Can you post a shot from the side?

Pictures from both sides. During install the shackles were perfectly vertical from frame eyes. I had to persuade the springs into alignment. The front shackles are flayed out as well just not as severe. You

I'd be more concerned about the shackle hanger that is attached to the frame. Mine were very rusty where they made contact to the frame. With the amount of rust you have showing, I'd pop it off and take a good look between the hanger and frame.

^^^Agree. 25 years ago I was under my jeep and noticed 2 of my original were cracked and broken. The original are junk and brittle I believe

:agree:

Mine are now welded to the frame.

Thanks guys I’ll check the hangers- that is light surface rust, but understand it could be worse underneath.

All this angle is being induced by the springs, the hangers are perfectly level.
I’m wondering if it didn’t get punched in the rear at some point and that bent the old hangers and springs. It has a new tailgate and is missing the tire carrier.

I was debating about swapping right and left seems like that would restore the natural angle but probably easier to just replace them.
Might rebuild the axle this winter as the ps seal is leaking on both front and rear.
