If i put a lift kit on my jeep do i need to replace these shackles? I have never seen this style before, is this stock?

you are in a rare position

those are stock early CJ shackles, kinda weak looking are they not? But guess what, they worked for years including during WWII. And you can still get them if you want. I personally change mine out if I have them.

So look at it this way, you can now do all kind of upgrades just because you have the option too.
Such as.............YJ springs
Yeppers if you are going upgrade, get a set of YJ spring hangers, spring pads, and some stock YJ shackles, then get the YJ 2.5 spring setup and shocks that will fit a 2.5 lift, cut off any spring hangers, and spring pads, weld on the new set so that after you are done the axles are in the same place they are today. and end up with 1 inch wider springs, now that will be a really good upgrade.
