I just put in all new poly leaf bushings and noticed when I was done that the jeep leans to the left like there is a spring sagging. Could have always been like this just never noticed before. The jeep always wants to pull to the right on the highway. Also looking for new shackles with no lift bought some rough country greasables and they were garbage, grade 2 hardware at best made in china, the holes for thru bolts were like 3 drill sizes too large for the bolts. Needless to say Im bACK on my stock shackles till find something new. U folks have any ideas? The sag is Prob causing the pull to right, ..right?

The Jeep lean is famous in these parts. I have two theories as to why. 1) Most of the time it is being driven by one person so extra weight is on the drivers side most of the time. 2) The way the motor twists the frame over the years from acceleration causes the frame to twist and lean. I could be off base but I have heard people who put new lift kits on and the lean remains the same.

The pulling right issue is alignment. The rear or front axle could be not sitting square on the springs. There is a pin that holds the spring pack together. It also aligns with a hole in the perch for the axle. If that hole is hogged out or the pin is broken then the axle could be not square causing a misalignment. Also your toe-in could be way off as well.

Wow, I reALLy hope my frame isnt twisted. I pulled both rear leaf springs and sat them next to each other on the floor, arches up and noticed one had slightly less arch than the other. This probably is the only cause of my lean to the left but would this cause the pulling to the right, thinking that with more spring compression on left the front hanger to axle distance would be slightly greater essentially giving rear wheel steer to the right? This is my theory, wondering if that makes sense to you all? Thanks for your comment Kane.

I had my frame straightened by a body shop and they preferred that the body was left on the vehicle, making it easier for me. It was twisted BTW. I have also swapped springs from side to side and used different size body mounts to level it out. Off-road use doesn't help.

My CJ5 has leaned for years. I have move the springs and even replaced them with a better set yet I still have the lean. I don't really worry about it too much.

You can see the lean in this picture.

Amen brother, amen. Mine too. Pulling to left or right seems like an alignment question to me. I look at the lean on my CJ5 everyday.
