The steering column on my 74 CJ5 seems too long. It was built for someone that resembled a t-rex, with long legs and really short arms.

Has anyone shortened their steering column? Is this even possible?

just for grins, how far is it from the dash to the top of the wheel??

The ruler in the photo is 15" so the steeringis about 11.5" at that angle

It looks like , at the same angle, the XJ tilt wheel I put in my 77 is about 9 inches. Just something to think about. I would think replacing the whole thing easier than shortening the original.

Aint no way a fat guy like me could even think about driving that:eek:.
