Hey guys, first time on the forum. I just recently bought a '80 CJ7 and haven't really had time to mess with it much. My question is, what is the best way to eliminate slack in the steering?? Should I just replace the old steering box with a new one? It does have some suspension and body lift but not much (not sure of the exact amount) and it has 35x15 TSL's on it. I know because of the tire size it is pretty much gonna go where the road wants it to go and it does drive straight sometimes just would like a little tighter steering. Any suggestions anyone????

Thanks

we have lots of suggestions.....first you need to find out whats worn out. if you have someone wiggle your steering wheel back and forth enough that they dont turn the whheels while you look at your steering system it will tell you where your slack is, like your tie rod ends, steering shaft, and or steering box its not to hard to spot whats worn out :chug: happy hunting
