I have a CJ5 that I'm building a Chevy 350 vortec for. It will probably have around 400HP when finished. Currently I have the SR4 and Dana 300 Transfer Case . I found a guy selling a SM420 Transmission , adapter and mounted to a Dana 300 Transfer Case . All 3 for $500.

I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger for some reason on this and I would like some feedback.

I'm planning on installing D60 front and rear although I found a D60 and Chevy 14 bolt for sale recently for $1000 and I'm considering picking up those axles. They're 4.10 geared.

I'm a little worried about the 4.10 gear and the low gear on the sm420.

Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

OK well let me rephrase my post into a question.

Is a SM420+adpater+Dana 300 Transfer Case a good deal for $500?

I'm not sure the condition but it was in a running setup and was being sold as a whole drivetrain hooked to a 4.3V6.

I'm considering buying this combo for my jeep CJ5 build, but I'm not ready for a Transmission yet since I'm still building the motor, but if this is a good pickup I'm going to grab it up.

Opinions?

I say it's a good deal. I sold a Dana 300 for $300 about a year ago

The adapter to the sm420 costs that much. If they are in good working order I would say jump on it.Adapting the SM420 to the Jeep Dana 300 Transfer Case Check out the prices.:)
