I think im getting out of riding sleds and looking at another jeep :D theres a guy around where i live that has a 83 CJ7 with whole fiberglass tub and fenders. what you guys think?

I say try to trade him and see how it goes. As long as the frame is in good shape it seems like a fairly decent trade.

When you ask a bunch of Jeep guys if they think you should get another Jeep odds are... :D

Jeep = all year fun, no need to wait for snow.

Im going to do the trade :D the whole frame has been powder coated and gas tank also. Only thing that bothers me is it has a bad lifter in the AMC 304 :( good news though i found a amc 360 for pretty cheap

I'd trade real quick!:)

Nothing really, just get the bellhousing, Transmission , tcase, and a centered widetrack model 20 rear and throw em in. Oh and you will most likely need new drive shafts too.

How about the front axle? What do you have to do with that I would want hubs.

Well if I remember correctly you can install hubs on that front diff without any modifications. I think that they have a spur gear in where the lock-out goes, you would just remove the spur gear and slide the lockouts into place. I would need to see a picture of the front hub area to be sure tho.

If it isn't that simple, I would take the time to find yourself a set of the 6 bolt knuckles so that you can have the stronger 6 bolt style hubs.

So will my narrow track knuckles work on those axles then?

Yup I've done that to my CJ when I still had the original wide-trac rears under it.

So bad news the guy i was going to trade said that he didnt have a title the "state" took it when they registered it as a ATV. ive done some calling to the state of utah they said that they dont take them if registered as a atv so that sounds a little fishy to me. The guy also said that he has a NEW vin number and title he could put on the jeep but isnt that illegal????
