YJ 4 inch Skyjacker lift w/ Bilsteins;
rebuilt AMC 360, Patriot Headers, Holley Truck Avenger 670 CFM, Edelbrock Performer Intake, Flexalite Electric Fan; Griffin Aluminum Radiator, Dual Flowmaster Delta Flow 40s;
Dana 30 4.10s w/ Detroit Truetrac;
Dana 60-2 Narrowed, 11 inch Ford Drum Brakes, 4.10s Power-Lok LSD; T-176; Dana 300 LoMax 4:1 Twin-Stick; Navajo Power Brake Booster
And I am undecided as to which one. I want an integrated model. It is for the CJ7 . I am looking at the 700-800 dollar range. These are the two I was looking at:

WARN 88980 - WARN ZEON™ 8 Winch with 100' Wire Rope and Roller Fairlead - Quadratec

vs.

Superwinch 1695210 - Superwinch Talon 9.5i Winch - Quadratec

So basically, is the Warn 'worth' the 100 dollar premium over the Superwinch? Which one would you choose?

And that leads to another question. If the Superwinch, why not this model for 15 dollars more? It is much more powerful.

Superwinch 1612200 - Superwinch Talon 12.5i Winch with 3/8” x 85’ Wire Rope - Quadratec

I think any of those winches would be excellent choices, but I am undecided. I don't do any heavy wheeling, but I enjoy taking the CJ in the woods. I just want a good quality winch. Thanks :cheers2:

Since they are both new mid price winches I don't know anything about either one.
But in the past the more expensive models of warn, superwinch and ramsey have all been great winches.
IMO I think the 12.5 would be over kill for a cj though.
I would go with the warn myself just cause I like the way it looks.

If that cover is a snapon I would go for it. If it ever got snarled in there it would be a hard time to clear in a mudhole or underwater. I would prefer an open spool so I could see what was going on. When pulling from the side it would be easy to cause a problem by not being able to see it. easy to build a cover for one that is removeable.

I like the WARN for the 15 extra feet of rope it has

A few people have told me to pick up a used 8274. I like the idea of a brand new winch, for numerous reasons, but what do you think about getting a used 8274? What would the final cost be on that? Pros and Cons? I just don't know. I was looking for the simple/good winch.

Also, if I do find a 8274 in decent shape, are there people that could restore/rebuild it? I don't want some big heavy thing on the front of my jeep if I can't trust it to actually work when I need it.

Thanks.
