i was lookin at my options for lift, and i was wondering around how much a SOA would cost? i will be doin all the work myself.

Only you can determine the cost.

Are you using the same springs? If yes , then at least those are free.
Buy new spring and shackle bushings,
Buy...
cut-off wheels to remove sua perches.
steel to make new perches.
Welding supplies to weld new perches on.
Buy the correct size (larger) socket head cap screws to replace the too skinny leaf spring centering pins.
Buy steel to make rear traction bar. Weld together.
Buy your choice of rod end links for traction bar
Buy longer rear brake hose from frame to axle.
Buy new shocks to accomodate increased travel.
Buy parts to customize your rear driveshaft if you end up needing to do it.
Relocate your fill plug higher on your rear diff cover if you tilt the rear pinion up. Or buy a ford hp cover.
Buy some high steer knuckles (junkyard)
Buy material to manufacturer your own high steer arms.
Buy material to make new tierod and drag link, including your choice of rod ends.
Buy longer front brake hoses.
Possibly need tubing to lengthen your front driveshaft.
Go through some more cutoff wheels to cut off you inner knuckles and improve your caster.
Welding supplies to weld them back on.

I am sure I forgot plenty.

When I did mine on my old '81 CJ7 , the single most expensive part was having the rear drive shaft lengthened along with adding a double cardan joint. Then came the new longer shocks and extended brake lines. Then all the spring perches, U bolts, misc steel for this n that, bushings for the traction bar shackle. Alot of little stuff but it adds up. I lengthened my front driveshaft myself as it didn't need to be balanced because it wouldn't see any high speed duty, only slow going. I did use the stock springs. I probably had around $600 into the SOA before tires. This was also 10 years ago.

well i had been told before that you could do it for $100-$200. but as ive been researching i havent found how to do it for that cheap? gotta be lucky on parts i guess.

Thats because to many people think all you have to do is reweld the pearches and rock on. Than they find out they have a jeep that is unsafe to drive.
You can usually find a couple on ebay.:D

Sound wisdom.

oh okay thanks.
but i think ive ruled out soa anyways now haha.
i think i'll go with a 3" and my 1"body lift.:D

If you want to be really cheap. Just cut off your spring mounts and flip 180 degrees. Then bolt ever thing on under the springs. then get longer shock and and new drive shafts and your good to go. Traction bar is nice but not a must. If you do it your self your look at probably $700. This is the cheap way and in the future when you have the cash your should get new plates and u-bolts. Also go easy on the throttle to avoid wheel hop until you put on a traction bar. Like I said you can do all this as the money come but you can start out for cheap.
